Q. I’m a spontaneous person and didn’t book ahead. Can I visit the Peace Ring without a booking?
A. Yes you can, but there’s no guarantee we will be open. Sometimes we close for a few hours for groundskeeping, or an entire day for maintenance or functions or events.
Q. If I am at the gate and its closed, can I phone 022 500 4007 to book right now?
A. Yes, often that can work but calling ahead of time is best.
Q. Do you have wheelchair access?
A. Yes, we have priority disabled parking and vehicular access right to The Peace Ring.
Q. Can I buy a teeshirt from the Peace Ring or is it from the website only?
A. Certainly, we have merchandise stock and sizes on hand.
Q. Can my cosplay buddies come for some laughs dressed as orks?
A. We love laughs, please do.
Q. Is this a LoTR attraction?
A. No, it wasn’t originally but the self proclaimed LoTR nerds keep coming. The Peace ring is an attraction for all.
Q. Do you have any LOTR costumes we can borrow for a photo?
A. No, its BYO at this stage. But please, no real swords, maces, daggers or clubs on the grounds. Just rubber and foam weapons allowed. You can check in your weapons at the gate.
Q. Can I meet the artist when visiting The Peace Ring?
A. Yes, he usually is your guide.
Q. Can I book the grounds for my wedding or event?
A. We welcome this. There is a large space for a marquee. Call to enquire.
Q. Drones?
A. Only with prior permission. Otherwise, used for target practice.
Q. Kids?
A. Well behaved children are welcome if accompanied by parents, but remember this is an art installation.
Q. do you have toilets available for visitors?
A. Sorry friends, we do not. The closest public toilets are in Twizel Township which are 10 minutes drive from The Peace Ring
